Elie Tahari is an Israeli-born, American designer who makes clothing with the modern woman in mind. His original collections, which were extremely well-received, were based around cute and fun dresses. He opened up one of the first fashion boutiques on Madison Avenue in 1974 and continued designing great women’s clothing. In the 1980’s, he turned his design toward suits, which became a hit of the decade, when women needed feminine suits as they entered the work force in droves. Today, the Tahari line designs pieces casual and dressy, while always being elegant and sophisticated to let a women’s inner beauty show.
