Kenneth Cole is a Brooklyn born shoe designer who is known for his witty, black and white ad campaign. He comes from a family of shoe manufacturers and learned the family business. The full name of the company is Kenneth Cole Productions, because he wanted to showcase his line on “shoe day” to the industry in a truck, but could only get a permit as a film maker. He sold 40,000 pairs at that show and the rest is history – and a film, entitled, “The Birth of a Shoe Company.”
