Grammy Awards – Best Dressed List

grammy fashion 1

If there’s one thing we know to be tried and true about Grammys fashion it’s that “expect the unexpected” seems to be the motto of the evening. From wacked out gothic ensembles to downright demure gowns, we’ve learned over the years that these musicians don’t mess around. It’s a clash of musical genres and sartorial tastes, but a few front runners push through the masses impressing the pants off us with their decked out, elaborate and “look at me” fashion choices. Here’s our list of artists who ruled the Best Dressed List.

Gwen Stefani – The “Spark the Fire” darling of Orange County proved once again she deserves top honors when it comes to nailing fashion trends but staying true to her individuality. This architecturally brilliant Atelier Versace jumpsuit showcased her playful, but fashion forward side.

Kim Kardashian-West – What can we say other than the girl knows the right formula to make heads turn. This show-stopping heavily beaded gold Jean Paul Gaultier robe dress (ahem a major trend for spring) was sexy, dramatic and glamorous – three words regularly used to reference Kim K’s style.

Beyonce – Custom Proenza Schouler. We repeat. Custom Proenza Schouler. Queen B nailed the “oh this ol’ elegant thing?” trend with soft waves and minimal make-up. BeyHive and editor approved.

Rita Ora – A dazzling delight of disco decadence, those are the only terms to truly describe Rita Ora’s high neck, long sleeve straight from the days of 70’s disco glam Prada dress.

Rihanna – Say what you will about this Giambattista Valli confectionary dream of a couture dress, but when Rihanna stepped onto the red carpet, jaws dropped. Perhaps it’s due to the gown’s monstrous size or bold pink color, either way, we couldn’t take our eyes off her!

Chrissy Teigen – Although her handsome hubby, John Legend, might have closed the show at last night’s Grammys with an unforgettable performance, Chrissy Teigen opened the red carpet with this stunning white column gown from Emilio Pucci. The cut-out detail and fitted body-con style was perfection on the swimsuit model’s killer bod.

Taylor Swift – Stepping out of her usual comfort zone of sparkling neutral numbers, the “Shake it Off” singer showed off her ultra fit figure in a strikingly beautiful, structured Elie Saab teal number complete with fuchsia heels.

Haim – Sisters that style together, stay together. At least that’s what we imagine the band’s aphorism should be. Cloaked in Chloé and Stella McCartney and donning the most classic of color combos – black & white, we predict this trio will be gracing loads of best dressed lists in the future.

Charli XCX – Maybe it was her borrowed from the boys ensemble or the gleaming white color or perhaps the playful inclusion of a pink heel and bow tie, but we’ve got to hand it to the “Boom Clap” crooner, her white Moschino tuxedo was the exact theatrical statement making moment the Grammys quirky red carpet is made of.
