The Boldest Grammy Beauty Looks
The Grammy Awards were filled with gorgeous gowns, fantastic performances (some of which were a surprise—go Kristen Wiig!), and of course, killer beauty looks. From Iggy Azalea’s enormous uni-braid to Katy Perry’s killer cat eye, we’ve rounded up some of the boldest beauty statements from this year’s show.
Colorful Cat Eye
Katy Perry’s cool cat eye was complemented by long, defined lashes and lavender locks. Jennifer Hudson also sported winged eyeliner, along with a fun pop of purple on her lips. The award for the perkiest cat eye goes to Ariana Grande, who coupled her upturned lines with a sleek and sexy high ponytail. You can copy all three of these red carpet liner looks with Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner in Intense Black, $20 (which is what Ariana’s own makeup artist used), along with Too Faced’s Cat Eyes Palette, $36 and Stila’s Major Major Lash Mascara, $22.
Nude Lips
Gwen Stefani swapped her signature red lip for a subdued glossy nude this year. Beyoncé did the same, looking amazing with minimal makeup, and Rihanna went for the lightest lip possible, minus the shine, so her pout wouldn’t clash with her voluminous pink gown. Create your own neutral lip with Laura Mercier’s Sheer Lip Color in Bare Lips, $24, followed by a layer of Laura Mercier’s Lip Glacé in Care Naked, $25.
Unexpected Updos
Iggy Azalea’s enormous wrap-around braid got the singer plenty of red-carpet attention, in both the yay and nay camps. Madonna was an all-around sensation in her cleavage-bearing “matador chic” style, with hair pulled up in loose pin curls and secured with visible bobby pins. When opting for an textured updo, make sure you set with a maximum hold hairspray, like Drybar The Sheriff Firm Hold Hairspray, $27.
