Runway to Street – How to Make Catwalk Looks Wearable

catwalk

We all know that it takes some serious editing to sort out of some of those outlandish runway looks. We tend to toss aside the impossible looks (ahem, 100% sheer blouses without anything underneath we’re looking at you!) in favor of the attainable ones.  And the questions often linger- who can wear that and how can I make that every day appropriate? Which is where we step in.  Your Lustre Life editors have been hard at work putting together runway to street outfits that you truly relate to, it just takes a few tweaks here and there.  So all those looks you had previously turned the page on, well, we’re showing you how to actually wear them.

First up is an outfit that combines sheer details, embellished gems, a graphic sweatshirt and a shower cap.  Yep, Givenchy’s A/W ’13 show schooled us in all things shower chic, but in a stunningly charming way.  So how to turn the extraordinary into the everyday? Don’t take the trends too literally.  Play with the overall concept, but add a splash of your own style. Don’t love the shower cap, swap it for a baseball cap or oversized headband.  The sheer skirt too much? Opt for peek-a-boo style skirts.  Here’s our take on Givenchy’s rebel rousing look for the everyday fashionista.
