Spring 2015 Beauty Preview: The Blue Cat Eye

If the change of seasons has you down, turn to the beauty looks that were recently presented at New York Fashion Week. One of our favorites? The bold, blue cat-eye created for Honor’s Spring 2015 show.

It’s easy to get the look: Start with a clean, nude face (use your regular foundation or BB cream), then create a thick, winged, cat-eye using Makeup For Ever’s Kohl Pencil in Turquoise 3K. Next, gently pat Make Up For Ever’s Pure Pigments in Blue over the liner with your ring or pinky finger. Have some facial wipes handy to clean up any color that falls outside of the cat eye shape.

Curl your lashes, then apply two coats of Aucoin’s Essential Masacara, making sure to wiggle your wand as you move it upwards. Keep your lip color low key by adding just a hint of pink with Stila Lip Glaze in Kaleidoscope.

If you want to recreate the look’s 3D polka dot nails, paint them with Formula  X’s New Classics polish in Omni. Once dry, apply a top coat then immediately place white mini pearls on the nail with a toothpick. Once that dries, carefully apply one more top coat over the pearls as best you can. The pearl add-ons may not stay in place for very long, so you may prefer to add painted on polka dots with Formula X’s New Classics polish in White Matter.

Voila! You’ve got a bold blue look that will lighten up those Autumn blues.
