Swimwear often doubles as underwear or even outerwear. In the land of endless summers, the locals have carved out a distinct sense of style recognizable and aspired to around the globe.

Influenced by the pixies of Laurel Canyon, sunsets of Malibu, mid-century architecture in Palm Springs, VW buses, music festivals in Indio and 90210 the fashion set lives in an eclectic, sunny and laidback wardrobe of soft, airy, flowing silhouettes (no AC required). Maxi and mini dresses double as cover-ups as well as dinner dress. Cross-body bags are fan favorites and compliment the laidback attitude. Denim is a religion in Southern California. Shorts or skirts, dresses or jeans, denim is king. Sandals are preferred over heels but don’t get us wrong. As lax as LAX living may be, California girls are stunning goddesses with enviable beach blown hair, sun-kissed skin and sporting a killer wardrobe. Surf’s up.
