We love perusing pendant necklaces because you never know what you might find. Some are small, dainty and shy, while others are large, loud and statement making. Whatever the style, they’re a wonderful way to dress up a bare neck (either alone or layered with other pieces), and if you’re feeling a little risqué, you can pair a long pendant that a low-cut shirt to tastefully hint at your bust.

Isabel Marant New Day Silver-Tone Necklace, $385

This long, black crystal pendant feels a little like a flashback—these were all the rage when I was growing up in the 80s. However, the ones I wore were certainly not of Isabel Marant quality. The spring-ring fastening on the chain means that you can wear it at it at whatever height you desire, and the sparkly dark stone is a definite standout.

Add a burst of sparkly sunshine to your neck with this pretty mini pendant. This black and white enamel disc, which hangs from a silver block embellished with crystals, is quite the art deco-style pendant. Perfect for holiday parties, it’s a great statement maker, especially when paired with a simple black dress or a solid, neck plunging blouse.

If you feel like showing off a little stylish, punk-rock attitude, there’s no better way to do so than with this brass skull pendant by Alexander McQueen. It’s embellished with Swarovski crystals and is just small enough not to be spooky, but large enough to show of McQueen’s iconic, jeweled-mohawk pendant. Also available in silver.
