What’s in a [Bag] Name?
With so many different styles of bags out there, it can be a bit confusing differentiating all the various names. However, it certainly comes in handy knowing what terms such as tote bag or satchel bag means when you are shopping online.

1) Satchel – Ladies’ satchel bags differ from men’s satchel bags. A ladies’ satchel bag is a bit structured and has short handles that can be slipped into the crook of your arm. Alexander Wang, $,1095.
2) Tote – Often a larger-sized bag with a square or rectangle shape. Typically has an open top. Stella McCartney, $1,118
3) Hobo – Perfect for the boho in all of us, a hobo bag is slouchy and has a crescent shape. Diane von Furstenberg, $847
4) Duffel – The duffle bag has a cylinder design and is normally bigger than all the other styles. It’s great for travel or for the gym. Saint Laurent, $1,550.
5) Shoulder – This covers a wide range of styles as it just refers to bags that have straps long enough that can be worn on the shoulder. Emilio Pucci, $1,450.
6) Crossbody – Bags that have long straps so that you can wear them across your torso are known as crossbody bags. Marc Jacobs, $198.
7) Clutch – Clutches are small enough to be handheld and perfect for a night out on the town. Oscar de la Renta, $1,295.
