Eyebrow Pencils for East Asian Brows
One of our LustreLife editors did a lot of research and tests to find the best eyebrow pencils for her East Asian coloring, and we had to share her comments and results with you. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
“A lot of beauty experts and bloggers suggested using either taupe, medium brown or dark brown pencils for my Asian brows. Well, I tried it and the results were horrendous, which is why I went on a hunt for pencils that were closer to my natural brows, rather than using lighter shades. Whenever I tried a filler that was lighter than my natural eyebrows, my husband kept telling me I looked weird.
After a bunch of trials and tribulations, I realized that what gave me the best looking result, all the while looking natural, was using a combination of Shiseido Natural Pencil in Natural Black ($20) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony ($21). First I use the Shiseido pencil as a filler and then brush it out. The color is fantastic for East Asian brows. Then I use the Anastasia Brow Wiz to shape the bottom and ends of the brow. Brush with the spooley (which is amazing) to create a blended look.
And just a tip. When you’re trying to assess your makeup looks, don’t just look in the mirror. Take a selfie and then go from there because we see a lot more in pictures, than we do just looking in the mirror. “
