Petal Power: Marni F/W 2015
Italian fashion house Marni sent out a battle cry for fall with a presentation teetering between warrior princess and Fantasia’s dancing flowers.
Designer Consuelo Castiglioni won raves for her fresh and floral fueled F/W 2015 presentation: a collection of modern strides, structure, a combination of utilitarianism meets militaristic. Fall presented us with a smattering of spring-like optimism in an often times dark and dreary season of blacks, charcoals and chocolates by utilizing cobalts, burnt orange, butter, and a bevy of greenery in petal powered prints.
Punchy, and at times playful, with oversized and exaggerated blossoms and fronds splayed over sleek modern silhouettes, a combination that leaves us feeling dizzy and desperate to own the line of wrap coats, Obi inspired belts, Mandarin collars, tunics, cropped sweaters, midi skirts, high-waisted pants and crossbody bags along with warrior inspired cuffs and hoops.
