Designer Spotlight – Helmut Lang

When it comes to sharply cut angular designs mixed with a deconstructed and minimalist flare, only one name comes to mind – Helmut Lang. Vienna born Lang started his eponymous label after finding it was nearly impossible to find the perfect jeans and tee.  Consequently, this discovery ignited his passion for fashion artistry in the form of denim, suits, trousers, blazers, knitwear and of course, the ultimate tee. The Helmut Lang aesthetic helped pave the way for the minimalist movement to truly define the 90’s fashion era.  A decade that continually serves as inspiration for designers to this day. In 2007, when the label relaunched under the helm of dynamite duo, Nicole and Michael Colovos, we were reminded just how influential Lang’s innovative and timely vision was nearly 10 years prior.
