Spring/Summer 2014 – Milan Fashion Week Trends
What we have long adored about Milan Fashion Week is the continual reverence to the heritage of the Italian culture. We’ve come to expect artful prints from Dolce & Gabbana, bold sexiness from Gucci, simple elegance a la Giorgio Armani and quirky retro wonders from Prada. Those are the Italian houses etched into fashion history and for Spring Summer ’14, the collections continued to awe, inspire and amaze us.
Sports Corner – Between the Gucci, Max Mara, Prada and Emilio Pucci collections, athletics just got a whole lot sexier. Think hooded ponchos, sporty shorts, mesh bralettes, embellished bustiers, colorful zippered parkas and yes, even metallic track suits.
All That Slithers is Gold – Rocker chic fused with textural animal prints was the resounding theme from Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo and Trussardi.
Art & Crafts – The face prints at Prada, the ancient Sicilian and Greek ruins digital prints seen at Dolce & Gabbana and the natural elements sketches at Missoni left us pining for a visit to the next art exhibition.
Light as a Feather – Ethereally light fabrics floated down the runway from likes of Alberta Ferretti, Fendi and Giorgio Armani.
