Summer Wedding Guest Prep 101: How to Look Gorgeous and Beat the Heat
Wedding season is here once again — do you have any summertime nuptials to attend? Whether you’re prepping for a backyard celebration, a beach wedding or an outdoor urban fete, there are some simple beauty-proofing precautions you should take to avoid having a complete makeup meltdown. Check out these tips for looking lovely — and beating the heat — during your next outdoor wedding.
1. Moisturize With Care. Apply the minimum amount of moisturizer necessary to keep your skin hydrated and flake-free. If possible, try using a formula that also has SPF, so you can avoid adding multiple layers of potential shine-inducers to your face.
2. Choose Your Coverage Carefully. Bust out your favorite BB cream (or CC cream, or blur cream, or tinted primer…) and use it instead of foundation. Even if you’re used to a significant amount of coverage, it’s much safer to bypass heavy makeup for a lightweight formula that will blend into your skin. 3. Waterproof Your Eyes. Even if you don’t cry when they say, “I do,” eyelids often get oily in the summer sun, and can cause your eyeliner and/or mascara to smudge. 4. Seal It With a Setting Spray. 5. Bring Blotting Papers. Keep these in your clutch and you won’t have to worry when you feel some shine coming on.
