Going Nude with Laura Mercier
One of our favorite looks for the season are the nude faces that we spotted allover the Fall/Winter 2014 catwalks. From Calvin Klein to Jason Wu, clean and flawless complexions were an incredibly refreshing change. With bare faces you are unable to hide behind liners, blushes and lips, so you really have to nail it when it comes to getting a flawless look. This is where blur creams come in.
Blur creams are one of the newest products to hit the makeup scene. We were really excited when Laura Mercier came out with their own blur foundation, especially because their tinted moisturizer has always been a crowd favorite. The Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide, $48 is an oil-free foundation that uses science, to literally blur out your face. Think of it as a real-life Instagram filter. In order to use this lightweight filter, you have to shake the bottle for 10 seconds and tap it several times on one end so that the ingredients blend together properly.
What our tester said:
Pros:
-If you only want lightweight coverage, this is great for that. I also love that it was buildable, so I could add on layers if I wanted to.
-So far it is the best foundation I have used that looks good when applied with my fingertips.
-It really did blur lines. I like to snap a quick selfie of myself, versus just looking in the mirror, to see what my makeup looks like to other people, and my face looked smoother and my complexion was evened out. When I zoomed in, my skin reminded me of an oil painting because reflective properties really did create a blur.
-My T-zone took longer to get oily with this product, which was a nice result from the matte finish of this product.
Con: The directions did mention that there might be a surge in product after shaking and opening, which there was, but I know to be more careful in the future now so that I don’t waste any product.
