S/S 2014 Fashion Week: London Edition
The pulse that vibrates through London on any given day is pretty magical. But during Fashion Week, it’s on a whole new level. New York may be the city that never sleeps, but London is certainly the city that knows how to dial up the fashion factor. What we saw on the runways were fresh spins on current trends from the likes of Thomas Tait and Roksanda Ilincic, plus a masterclass on how to really style prints, thanks in part to Buberry, Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou.
Mind Your Prints – We’re already stoked that logo-mania has officially set in, but the copious amounts of print and pattern coming out of LFW were perfectly directional. Layer up just about every complementary print you can and you’ll look straight off the runway.
Modern Mosaic – Sure colorblocking is nothing new, but trial out the mosaic tiles inspired looks from London and you’ll be singing a different tune.
Shine on You Crazy Diamond – It was a bright lights, big city theme. But in lieu of the lights, it was the mega metallic looks, sequined frocks, dazzling bombers and decorated embellishments that stole the shows.
