Motorcycle Diaries: Autumn’s Coolest Biker Jackets

With loads of leather and tough-luxe hardware, designers revved up their fall collections with moto-inspired style. The most iconic piece is undisputedly the biker jacket, an unwavering style that reaffirms its sartorial staying power season after season.

Rebellious women led the fashion pack, inspiring new updates on the classic——think ’60s icon Francoise Hardy and the inimitable Elizabeth Taylor, both who famously owned their own motorcycles. While our tried-and-true leather styles never fail, we love how designers have switched gears and added edgy new updates to more traditional biker jacket silhouettes. Collars were padded with panels of plush shearling and typical leather was swapped for supple suede to create a sumptuous texture play. Rocker-chic studs, dimensional quilting and bold prints and color palettes offered a cool new-season spin. We’re calling it fashion in the fast lane.
