Founded by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge in 1961, YSL has become one of the most well-known luxury fashion houses in the entire world. Yves Saint Laurent is considered legendary for their haute couture and ready-to-wear collections. The designer behind the brand, Yves Saint Laurent always had an affinity for fashion and began designing at a very young age. Later on in life, he studied under Christian Dior who helped Saint Laurent’s style mature and evolve. After creating his own company, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, honored him with his own solo exhibition. It was the first time a living fashion designer was ever given that honor.
