Designer Spotlight: Madewell

8-Madewell

In 2006, J.Crew introduced Madewell, a line they touted as “a modern-day interpretation of an American denim label founded in 1937.” Since then, the label has grown greatly — in addition to the vintage-style jeans the are famous for, they now also offer bags, belts, necklaces, bracelets, boots, socks — even umbrellas. Here are eight of our current Madewell favorites (denim included, of course).

Madewell Skinny Skinny Ankle Jeans in Nightfall Wash, $70

This pair of dark-wash skinnies are super slim, extra stretchy, and go great with a killer pair of pumps.

Madewell Skinny Skinny Ankle-Zip Jeans in Pool Wash, $128

Zipper detailing on the ankle adds a tiny touch of hardware to these sexy, streamlined jeans.

Madewell Rivet & Thread Worker Jeans, $185

The laid-back, worn look of these slouchy — and incredibly comfy — boyfriend jeans are perfect for lazy weekends.

Madewell Colorblock Long Sleeve Tee, $50

Make of soft, slinky jersey, this casual top goes with almost everything. The colorblock detailing on the neckline and sleeves give it an extra shot of style.

Madewell Military Shift Dress, $155

We love this loose-fitting shirtdress, with its botton-secured cuffs and snap-tabs on the shoulders. Pair it with warm tights and a knit cardigan it’s ready for winter wear.

Madewell Open Weave Scarf, $58

You don’t have to spend a fortune to own a fabulous wool scarf. The fringed edges and threadbare print give this winter accessory a subtly vintage style.

Madewell “Sloane” Mini Satchel, $178

Small satchels are in this season, and this leather cross-body bag is sophistcated, structured, and works perfectly both inside and out of the office.

Madewell Two-Tone Lace-up Boot, $228

Make with a combo of Italian leather and suede, these lug-soled, lace-up booties are unique, eye-catching, and pair perfectly with a many of Madewell’s skinny jeans.
