Pre-Fall 2015 Collections – 3 Trends to Try Now!

pre fall

We’re not even halfway through the winter yet and our eyes and hearts are a flutter thanks to the Pre-Fall collections.  Call it impatience, call it excitement, call it whatever you want, but we’re not the types to wait around once we have our sights set on a totally fabulous, gotta-try-it-now trend.  To combat the waiting game between now and September, we’re revealing the three trends you can incorporate into your wardrobe today.  The real bonus here is that these trends will transition into your sartorial repertoire so seamlessly, you’ll feel as though you’ve owned these pieces all along.

Cream of the Crop– Wide-legged culottes and cropped trousers had a major impact on Pre-Fall labels.  So much so, we’re predicting 2015 to be the year of the shortened pant hemline. Get yours now by tossing on an oversized sweater with culottes to play with relaxed proportions or slim the silhouette with fitted tapered trousers and sky-high stilettos.

Preen By Thornton Bregazzi Cropped Wool Twill Wide Leg Pants $1,115

Tibi Pleated Leather Culottes $1,195

Band of Outsiders Cotton Tapered Pants $450

Brown is the new Black – With Marsala being picked as Pantone’s Color of the Year and varying shades of the dark autumnal shade imbued in practically every collection, the new neutral come fall will undoubtedly be brown. Look for countless tones of chocolate, beige, camel and rust spiked with military influences and adorned with luxe fabrics like shearling, suede and fur.

Diane Von Furstenberg Selma Suede Wrap Dress $1,300

Vintage Balenciaga Palma Leather Aviator Jacket $4,200

Temperley London Leather Skirt $625

Going to Great Lengths –The maxi length trend spotted in the Pre-Fall collections means trialing this style trick during Winter 2015 keeps us cozy and warm while we brave Polar Vortex 2.0.  A thought we’ll happily oblige.  So, look to layer your to-the-floor knit wear and knee length tunics over midi dresses, shin-grazing skirts, cropped pants and denim or tuck underneath duster coats for maximum effect.

Adam Lippes Layered Silk and Cashmere Blend Tunic $1,190

Temperley London Long Empire Coat $1,250
