Kate Spade is an American designer who formerly worked as an accessories editor at Mademoiselle Magazine. She decided to design six styles of handbags that became an instant success, and from there she went on to open a store and expand her repertoire. The general style is utilitarian, luxe minimalist and vibrant. The brand’s motto is “live colorfully.”
The line was eventually sold and expanded to incorporate new elements to make it a global lifestyle brand. They now design ready to wear, footwear, accessories, eye wear and a large collection of home accents and bedding. The brand is sold in over 100 standalone stores nationwide and over 100 stores internationally as well as other shops.
